This image shows a blackout poetry piece created on page 18 of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The original text is mostly obscured with dark gray marker. Various green and brown collage clippings are pasted across the obscured parts of the text. The center of the page displays a collaged image of a back-view of a woman's anatomical system, with portions cut out to reveal words and phrases from the original text. Select words and phrases have been left uncovered by the gray marker markings as well, creating a new poetic message against the drawn-over and collaged background.
