two eyes

This image shows a blackout poetry piece created on page 162 of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein”. The page is divided into three sections, one of which obscures he majority of the text in red marker, one which does the same in light blue marker, and one which obscures the majority of the section with black marker and a pale-blue portrait of a screaming woman. Select words and phrases have been left uncovered in all three sections, creating a new poetic message against the colorful background.
