  1. I re-discovered my love for writing through this class. Reading through a writer’s lens, focusing on a particular point that may have started as a background part but eventually ends up as the star of the piece, and the importance of revisions and breaking things down completely to see the best possible result were just some of the things I learnt. I realized writing for me has often been a vision of things that have inspired me: ranging from my hometown, my family, my love for LEGO, or simply, my absolute love for dramatic incidents in the lives of people I know and those that are around me. My best works often came at my most vulnerable: early in the morning, or late at night: most of the times while I sat on my floor or was buried under my cocoon of blankets on my bed. I still love writing these large-scale pieces with many moving parts but have also leant how to do the opposite. I accomplished my goal of using my writing as a way to escape into my dreams or put words to the dreamlands I conjure up in my head. The most interesting thing I’ve learnt is that I love writing about food! Not surprising me to me, but a revelation nonetheless!

  2. I have really enjoyed this class. I have enjoyed hearing everyone stories, reading different genres, and having the small workshop groups. One thing I learned from this class that I will take with me in the future is my writing habit. After each project, I learned more and more about where I work the best and I will use that knowledge for my future writing assignments. Have a good break!
