Today as I describe microfilm records relating to the internment of Japanese Americans during World War II I remind myself of the importance of sharing this tough information and I am heartened by the efforts of the YWCA to advocate for and work with the internees. The YWCA collaborated with other organizations to assist the internees and work to make their life at the camps better and dispel prejudices and  negative images. The microfilm records chronicle these efforts and include copies of newsletters, flyers, reports and other publications collected. I’ve added a few images that struck me from “Trek,” a magazine by internees at the Topaz Relocation Center in Utah.
