Welcome to the Math Stories Project page!
In our math stories interesting characters find themselves having to solve a challenging collection of math problems.  The mathematics in the stories include all major concepts involving operations and algebraic thinking. The stories are set in a context that makes sense, the problems themselves emerge out of the sensible context, and children are able to imagine that they are helping the story’s characters.  The stories support learner’s development of mathematical reasoning over a wide range of beginning knowledge, and are occasions for students to see math as meaningful and see themselves as capable mathematicians. The stories are also fun.
