My Museums Concentration Capstone Project is a proposal for a new Public Humanities Concentration here at Smith College. I was mainly inspired to pursue this project after participating in the 2021 Smithsonian Internship Program and spending last fall semester in Washington, D.C. My project outlines different components of this proposed concentration with its goals and resources relevant to its creation. Those interested in pursuing the Public Humanities Concentration would essentially bring ideas of academic debate into the public sphere in more accessible and engaging ways in areas of interest. For the digital component of this project, I created a WordPress site for this new Public Humanities Concentration, including its learning goals, the definition of the Public Humanities, relevant coursework, and resources for Public Humanities projects and organizations at Smith and beyond.
