As a student museum educator at the Smith College Museum of Art and student teacher at the Campus School of Smith College, I’m interested in the intersection between art museum–based education and classroom teaching. Based on my experience writing tour/lesson plans and teaching at the museum and in my third–grade classroom, I developed a series of lessons to complement a unit on narrative writing for upper elementary or middle school students. The lessons allow classroom teachers to choose from visual artworks that align with student work on dialogue, inner dialogue, setting, and more.
