Description:
Thanks to the generosity of the Warshawsky family, and the commitment of SOTC, the Cleveland Museum of Art is delighted to offer two undergraduate fellowships. Fellowship recipients will receive a stipend, free dormitory housing, and a unique immersion into the community with the ultimate goal of having fellows
build networks permanently located in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio.

Fellowship recipients receive a stipend of $3,000 for a 285-hour internship (June 2–**July 31, 2020). Travel and housing costs are not included. Summer 2020 fellowship positions are available in the curatorial and collections divisions.

TO APPLY SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING:
•A letter of intent indicating why you are interested in an internship and your art historical or other areas of interest;
•A CV that includes a list of relevant coursework;
•A writing sample (750 words or less); and
•Two letters of recommendation.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Skills Required:
Designed to highlight what the CMA and the City of Cleveland have to offer, fellowships will be granted to the nation’s top art history majors. Applicants must:
1. Be a currently enrolled sophomore, junior or senior in college and in good standing
2. Be SOTC eligible

Competitive applicants must display the following:
Excellent research and writing skills;
Ability to work well in a team environment; and
Enthusiastic interest in museums.

**Please note that despite the official internship period ending on July 31st, students hired through Summer on the Cuyahoga are required to remain in the program through Thursday, August 6th. There are no exceptions. CMA will work with students to either provide an extension of internship experience or offer volunteer opportunities during the first week of August.

Hours: 9-5 with occasional weekend or evening hours.

Typical Day:
Fellows may spend their days conducting archival research for objects in the permanent collection or upcoming exhibitions, creating and updating object records, and attending meetings. Each fellow will also complete an present capstone project as part of the CMA’s summer internship program.

Compensation: Amount in Salary section is there as a placeholder. The stipend for this internship is $3000. You would also receive additional benefits as a member of the SOTC cohort including cost-free housing and access to over 40 events/activities.

A vehicle is recommended but not required. Public transportation is available and would take approximately 20-25 minutes.
