Instructions:

Students listen to the poem “Employed” by Beverly Rollwagen. They write for 10 minutes without lifting pens — or lifting fingers from keyboard — beginning with the words “She just wants . . .” (substituting the appropriate pronoun for themselves). Students share in small or large groups. Facilitator leads a discussing, asking about the effect of writing in the third person about oneself.
