
Skylar Ball ’26, Editor-in-Chief
Skylar Ball is a senior at Smith College studying History and English literature. She is particularly interested in early twentieth-century intellectual and social history. Areas of focus include early psychoanalytic history, literary modernism, and Jewish history. She is currently working on an honors thesis about surveillance and sexuality at Smith College between 1914 and 1930. Skylar enjoys running and cooking, and takes great pride in her espresso setup.

Margot Johnsen ’27, Editor
Margot Johnsen ’27 is a History and Theatre double major from the San Francisco Bay Area. Her primary research interest is women’s dress history in the United States from 1820-1960. She is excited by quantitative analysis and its utility to explore patterns in historical research. Margot has worked at Gammelgården Museum of Scandia, wearing many hats, including textile restoration. Her love of history and theatre intersects with a passion for period pieces, most recently directing Chekhov’s Three Sisters with Smith’s Student Theatre Committee (STC). As of Spring 2026, she is studying in Germany with the Smith in Hamburg program.

Lucy O’Brien ’26, Editor
Lucy O’Brien ’26 is a History and Statistics double major from Connecticut. Within her history degree, she focuses on the history of science, technology, and medicine, with a particular interest in infectious disease. On campus, she works with the CODEX History Lab, where she does everything from visualizing the evolution of the American Historical Association to mapping the spread of the plague across medieval Eurasia. Beyond Smith, Lucy has worked as a research assistant for a history professor in Washington DC and within a virology lab in Seattle.
