Mothers Misread: Conflicting Iconographies of the Plaza de Mayo
Hana Greif, New York University
Hana Greif is a May 2026 graduate of New York University, where she majored in English literature and history with a minor in art history. Her undergraduate degree examined cultural history via literature and art, focusing on diaspora and women’s studies in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. She completed an honors thesis in the NYU Department of English exploring colonial ethnography and the picturesque in Thomas Hardy’s The Return of the Native. Hana currently works at Ellis Island’s Records Discovery Center, where she researches experiences of return migration from the United States, and she hopes to pursue an academic career at the crossroads of archival work and literary theory.
