“We are Mourning:” Expressions of Grief and Religiosity in Vietnam War Resistance at Smith College
Nellie Lothian, Smith College
Nellie Lothian is a recent graduate from Smith College, where she majored in history and religion. Her studies primarily focused on Eastern Orthodoxy, Russian and Soviet history, and religious philosophy. She is particularly interested in lived experiences of the Cold War, religion in the Soviet Union, and collective memory. Outside of the classroom, she worked at the Smith College Special Collections, where she gained a love for hands-on work with archival sources. Since graduating from Smith, she enrolled in a summer intensive Russian language program at the University of Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys playing copious amounts of Scrabble and spending time with her cat, Kiki.
