Beatriz Cazho Garcia is a Government major and Neuroscience minor at Smith College whose research interests center on educational equity and the experiences of first-generation, low-income students. She is passionate about examining how institutional structures shape students’ sense of belonging and access to resources and opportunities. Beyond Smith, Beatriz has pursued experiences across public service, law, and communications, including work with the Massachusetts State Legislature, the Massachusetts Trial Court, and the healthcare nonprofit Family Reach. As a first-generation student, she hopes to continue using research and storytelling to advocate for more equitable and accessible institutions.
