Subject: My Very Important Week

Writer’s Note

I wrote this project because I wanted to reflect on the impact of quarantine on family dynamics. My inspiration was for the project was the Funny or Die video in which Michael Shannon read the Delta Gamma sorority letter.

Director’s Note

This monologue is a really fun expression of the frustration that a lot of students who’ve had to return home and continue their academic routines from a family setting have been feeling! Marly’s script contained a lot of sharp, hilarious details that helped to fill out and humanize Talia’s character while also giving Ava a ton of different options to play with during her delivery of the monologue.
