2 c. flour
2 3/4 c. b. powder
1.4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
3 sqs. chocolate
3/4 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift flour once, measure, add b.p. & salt, & sift 3 times.
Cream butter, add sugar, add eggs.
Beat well.
Add melted choc. & blend.
Add flour & milk.
Bake in 2 9in pans in oven, 350° 30 minutes.

2 egg whites unbeaten
1 1/2 c. sugar
5 tbsp. water
1 1/2 tsp. lightcorn syrup
1 tsp. vanilla
1 2oz can Baker’s Coconut
Combine egg whites, sugar, water, syrup in top of double boiler, beating constantly until mixed.
Place over rapidly boiling water beating constantly – cook 7 mins or until frosting stands in peaks.
Spread on cake.
Sprinkle coconut on while frosting is soft.
