Mrs. F. Sponge Cake

4 eggs – beaten separately

1 level cup sugar

3 T cold water

1 1/2 T cornstarch

1 scant cup flour

1 1/2 teas. baking powder

1/2 teas. salt

Beat yolks thick

Add sugar, beat 2 min, add water

Add dry ingredients to yolk mixture

Add egg whites & 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Bake in greased pan 35 min, 350°
