Footnotes1 are added by using a “short-code” that you type in-line in your text. You’ll see the short code when you’re editing your post, but then when it’s published, you’ll only see the footnote.
To add a footnote:
- While editing your post, click your cursor to the place where you want to insert your footnote.
- Begin the short code by typing the open square bracket: “[“
- Next type the number for your note: “1.”
- Type the text of your note: “Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth (New York: Signet, 2003), 34-40.”
- Type the close square bracket: “]”
- Jules Verne, Journey to the Center of the Earth (New York: Signet, 2003), 34-40. ↩
