Login to WordPress (for non-Smith Users)

WordPress at Smith College has two different login methods depending on where your site is located.

  • Most WordPress sites are found at sites.smith.edu. If your blog address starts with “sites.smith.edu” follow the Log into Sophia instructions below.
  • Sites created before 2016 are located at www.sites.smith.edu/blogs. If your blog address starts with “sites.smith.edu/blog”, follow the Log into Blogs instructions below.

Log into Sophia

To log in to a Smith College WordPress as a non-Smith user, in your browser URL, type https://sites.smith.edu/[Your Site]/wp-login.php. The login screen will appear. Click A WordPress-only account on this site. The Username or Email Address and Password fields will appear.

Note: If you have a Five Colleges account, click Your Smith or Five Colleges account instead to login through your institutional login.

Enter your assigned username and password. Click Log In. You will automatically be redirected to your site.  You may end up in the “dashboard” of the site right away. If you would like to view the front of the site, click the house icon in the upper left corner.

Note: If you do not have an assigned username and password, contact the site administrator.

Log into Blogs (Sites created before 2016)

To log in to a Smith College Blogs as a non-Smith user, go to https://sites.smith.edu/blog/. The WordPress login screen will open.

Enter your username or email address and password. Click Log In. You will automatically be redirected to your site.
