Smith Equestrian encompasses both the competitive hunt seat team, and the non competing club riders. We are a diverse group of Smithies ranging in experience from beginners to advanced riders. Some team members have been riding their whole lives, and some started their riding careers with Smith Equestrian. Our team members have ridden in equitation, show jumping, dressage, western, saddle seat and everything in between.
Whether you major in Classics, SWAG, Engineering, Astronomy, or any of Smith’s 50 majors, you can compete with the team while still pursuing a rigorous academic experience.
Our team members work in labs across campus, have major roles in plays and productions, are part of musical ensembles, are gold key tour guides and even have time for classes! At the barn, shows and around campus we strive to build a positive community of horse people. We value the welfare of our horses, self-improvement, and we foster an inclusive, supportive team environment.
