Lily is a senior maths and astronomy double-major whose riding journey started at the age of 8. She has competed as a show jumper back home in London from a young age and has only been riding Hunt Seat since the Fall of 2021. She recently won our region’s sportsmanship award for this year!

Sonali Konda ’27

Novice
Sonali is a sophomore English major from Dallas, Texas. She’s been obsessed with horses for as long as she can remember and took her first few riding lessons during elementary school. In middle school, she started riding consistently at a small community and rescue barn, where she still works and rides during the summer.
Outside of SCEQ, she enjoys reading and creative writing and can often be found in the library or the gym.
Rainbow Gu ’26

Rainbow is a junior double majoring in SDS and History. She started riding in middle school and has fallen in love with it since then.
She joined Smith College in the Fall of 2022 and has been SCEQ’s treasurer since mid-2023. Rainbow is so excited to be riding alongside her fellow teammates and take beautiful photos of them.
Simran Baveja ’27
Captain
Intermediate Over Fences/ Limit Flat
Simran is a co-captain of the team, and a sophomore from San Francisco. She has been riding for 11 years on the hunter/jumper circuit in her home state of CA. She is majoring in psychology and concentrating in community engagement and social change.
Outside of riding, she is involved in SJP and other student activism, and also enjoys reading, writing, and the movie Ratatouille!
Alex Blaszczyk ’27

Introductory
Alex is a sophomore environmental geoscience major from Freehold, NJ. She started riding in high school, but only started riding seriously once she came to Smith. Her favorite part of riding is meeting and learning all of the different personalities of the ponies she rides.
Outside of riding Alex works at MacLeish Field Station and works in a geology research lab. She loves doing anything outside, and is always down for a run, hike, or kayak!
Hannah Wolman ’27

Novice
Hannah is a sophomore biochemistry and French studies double major on the pre-med track from Chelmsford, Massachusetts. She started pony camp as a second grader and has been riding ever since! She currently events but also enjoys learning dressage, and loves getting to learn alongside her teammates!
Outside of horses, she plays oboe with the wind ensemble and enjoys baking, being outdoors and saying hello to every dog she sees on campus!
Nina Ballance ’27

Nina is a sophomore prospective biology or environmental science major and Italian minor from Durham, NC. She has been riding since first grade in various disciplines, though eventing is her favorite so far. She loved her first year competing in IHSA with SCEQ and can’t wait for more!
In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, reading, dancing, skiing, and learning new languages!

Adela is a 26J (first-semester junior) History major! She has been riding since she was 9 and has loved it ever since. She prefers stadium jumping but also loves trail riding and IHSA!
The team’s energy has never been better since she joined.

Amalia Tomas
Novice
Amalia has been riding since she was 6 and loves to do everything that one could possibly do on horseback. She’s competed in jumpers, gymkhana, eventing, pairs dressage, and most recently hunters! Her favorite thing to do is trail ride through a snowstorm in her home state of New Hampshire. She loves all aspects of horse life and most recently worked as a vet tech at New England Equine Medical and Surgical Center. Outside of her horsey interests, Amalia is an avid short and long-form fiction writer and a sucker for a good book (some of her favorite authors include Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Charles Dickens, Jhumpa Lahiri, and James Herriot). She’s loves a good hike in the white mountains, swimming in the summer, and nordic skiing in the winter.
Tessa Wilson-Brown

Tessa is a junior from Champaign, IL. She is a biology major and is also pre-vet. She rode for the first time in seven years after joining SCEQ last fall and is very excited to be back around horses!
In her free time, Tessa enjoys reading books and watching horror movies. She also loves talking about her various pets, as she has two dogs and a small flock of chickens at home.

Natasha Anguelouch

Natasha is a sophomore English and Russian double major from Fremont, California. She has been taking hunter-jumper riding lessons off-and-on since 11th grade, and hopes to eventually start eventing!
Besides riding horses, Natasha enjoys traveling, being outside, and reading!
Emily Wang

Emily is from Shanghai, China. She has just started to ride in high school, and she is excited to continue riding in college.
Outside of SCEQ, she loves to play the piano, swim and talk about her dog.

Eva Jarbeau

Eva is a first year intended neuroscience major from Arlington Massachusetts. She has been riding and working at barns for three years now. She dreams of being a veterinarian for dogs and cats and hopes to always be able to incorporate horses into her life. Pictured is Moo, her heart horse who she has spent the last two years getting to know.

Mia is an intended Math and History major from Ovideo, Florida. She started to ride in high school and competing at Smith, which she is very excited about!
Outside of the team, she enjoys baking and cooking, being in nature, petting all the dogs around campus and taking pictures!
Liz Leland

Liz is a first-year intended French and history major from Hingham, MA. She started riding in elementary school and has mainly been trained in the hunter/jumper discipline.
Other than riding, she plays violin in the Smith College Orchestra and also enjoys reading and visiting museums!
