Opportunities: Social Media

This week I’m just going to take a moment to reflect on some opportunities in social media and communications. For this project I have committed to a number of posts across social media platforms each week. I have been faithful in posting images, updates, and thoughts to Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and this blog. So far there has been great reception and support but a lack of interaction and dialogue. Posting has been great so far for awareness and promotion of the project but my goal is to do more than just put posts out there. Without interaction and engagement interest is lost. For the coming weeks I am committing to posting timely and engaging content. I will be sure to report back with the results and any lessons learned!

Progress update August 2016

I’m deep into metadata creation now and plugging away reel by reel, microdex by microdex. There’s a lot of microfilm to get through with a lot of rich content so I’ll be there for a while. Meanwhile, digitization is going along at a fast pace with digitized microfilm coming back fast and furious. Maida is already looking ahead to prepping photographs and then serials for digitization. I’ll leave you with a small taste of things to come in photographs. I thought it fitting to post an early sports image as the Olympics are in full swing. Thanks to the early pioneers of women in sports!
