In practice, Tadoku (extensive reading) is simple. But where do you start…?
STEP 1. Select a Level
Our books are organized by level (difficulty) to accommodate a large variety of learners. However, we typically encourage newcomers to start with Level 0 in order to familiarize themselves with the Tadoku method. You can also search by genre to select a book based on its genre.
STEP 2. Choose a Book
Once you find a book that catches your eye, click on its cover image to read it online!
STEP 3. Get reading!
When you find a word you do not know, refrain from using dictionaries. It is ok to skip over difficult words, phrases and passages. When the going gets tough, simply set the book aside, and pick up another. In this way, you will get an authentic experience of “reading for pleasure” rather than a skill oriented manner through Tadoku.
