Opinions on Malcolm X: “rational leader” or “apostle of hate”?
In the wake of Malcom X’s assassination, the Sophian published an editorial on February 23rd lauding his role as a leader who brought national attention to the unjust treatment of his people. In a strongly-worded denial of this position, the Sophian published a reader’s letter to the editor on February 25th accusing Malcolm X of hatemongering and comparing him to Adolf Hitler.
