Opinions in support of and against preferential treatment to achieve racial justice
Two Sophian articles in the opinion pages, one from a Sophian editor (February 16th) and one in response to that article from the executive director of the National Urban League (March 2nd), offer support for the idea of preferential treatment for black people to correct an unequal state of affairs. However, other letters to the editor spoke against the need of preferential treatment or accused the February 16th article of being patronizing.
