Committee on Community Policy (CCP) holds first in a series of forums
The Committee on Community Policy (CCP) held its first forum on the community issues report on Sunday night in Wright Hall. A cohort of 25 students, faculty, and administrators came together to discuss the recruitment and retention of people of color at Smith College. Those assembled brought up not just the role of the Admissions Office but also that of the Gold Key tour guides, the Alumnae Association, and the Bridge Program. Additionally, they talked about how to be honest about Smith’s racial problems without scaring off prospective students, and touched upon the issues surrounding the hiring of the new affirmative action officer.
