Committee on Community Policy (CCP) holds second in a series of forums
Approximately 25 people attended the second CCP forum, eight of whom were students. This forum centered around Smith’s curriculum and how to either integrate a new multicultural course into it or make existing courses more diverse. Opinions varied on whether the proposed multicultural course should be required or simply available. Those in attendance discussed the practical concerns involved in creating a new course versus modifying a course such as Government 100. A few of the faculty members also brought up the issue of discrimination in the classroom and how to deal with that.
