First Otelia Cromwell Day held

From the May 4th, 1989 special edition of the Sophian (4): “The College plans to create and implement racial and cultural awareness programs for next year in addition to its actual investigation of the notes. According to Dunn, she will establish a planning commission made up of administration, faculty, and students to organize a symposium dealing with the issue. The planning commission is now being established, Dunn said. Dunn said that she would like to dedicate one day next fall to the symposium and bring in various experts in the field of racism to discuss the issue. “They will be informed and knowledgeable people to help us all understand this phenomenon. The enemy you know, you can lick. But the enemy you don’t know is a lot more difficult to deal with,” said Dunn.”
