First Women of Color Queer-Friendly Tea held

25 queer students of color and their allies gathered to drink tea, eat snacks, play games, and talk at Unity House on Bedford Terrace. Their gathering was the first meeting of the Women of Color Queer-Friendly Tea, which was sponsored by the Asian Students’ Association (ASA). When doing a workshop focused on queer Asian Americans during that year’s Otelia Cromwell Day, ASA members heard feedback that both the Lesbian-Bisexual Alliance (LBA) and Unity organizations were not addressing the needs of queer students of color. They decided to sponsor the the tea to give queer students of color more of a support network on campus.

The full Sophian article on the tea can be found here (1, 3, 4).
