Open mic against hate crimes held
Comstock House organized an open mic to address the anti-gay message and drawing found on a resident’s dry-erase board. Over 200 people gathered on the steps of Comstock House at 9 p.m., where Comstock’s head resident Brennan Bruss ‘97 made an official house statement to start the night off. In her statement, Bruss referred to the racist drawing in Wilson House the previous month as an additional reason to “work to resolve this issue as a house and as a community.” After the resident who owned the dry-erase board and Dean of the College Maureen Mahoney had spoken, many other students stepped up to the open mic to address what had happened, some reading poetry or journal entries.
