Project update

Hello all! It’s been a while since a project update so I thought I’d take a chance here to make some updates. Metadata creation continues. I am finally wrapping up microfilm metadata and I’m making good progress through photograph folder description. For the fall, the focus of my time will gradually shift away from metadata creation as that wraps up and move towards content models, data models and workflows for ingesting metadata into ArchivesSpace and Compass. More to come on those models and workflows as we work through them.

Y.W.C.A. of the USA’s Activist History

I thought this week, in the spirit of staying inspired and fighting back, I would do some digging into the Y.W.C.A. archive to find examples of incredible activist women who have been on the frontline of fights like these, throughout history. It has been a rewarding, exciting and inspirational dig into the archive, and I am excited to share what I have found. Continue reading
