Stars

“Where stars walk”  -1960

The twinkling of stars mimic the radiant city lights below, and like the latter, show themselves in many, sometimes unexpected places throughout MacIver’s work. The similarity between her treatment of city lights and stars nods to the blurring between industrial, manmade forms and the natural world that is evident in many of her paintings. The notes below acknowledge her whimsical, hopeful observations of these stars, through her own words and those of Oscar Wilde.
