One of the goals Florence Day set for her administration was to establish a strong and lasting Alumnae Association. Though there had been alumnae associations in a few cities before, this was the one that has had an unbreaking link to the current SSW alumnae association. One of the things Day encouraged alumnae to do was to create a newsletter. The first issue appeared shortly before her death from cancer in 1956.

Below you will find the second issue of the reborn School for Social Work Alumnae Association newsletter with an essay by Florence Day front and center. Underneath that, you can hear Sylvia Stevens, M.S.S. 1953, remember Day’s persistent efforts to build the association.
