His talk covered his time in Little Rock, Governor Faubus’ instrumental role in creating a state of crisis, and the ongoing tensions there. It was only recently that one of the Little Rock Nine was expelled after calling a white student who had been harassing her for weeks “white trash.” Fine believed it could take as long as 200 years for some southern states to fully integrate.
