Southern Student Exchange Program held
Seventeen Smith students and eleven students from schools in the South traded places for a week to attend each other’s colleges. The six participating Southern schools included both black and white colleges: University of North Carolina at Greensboro, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Centre College (Danville, Kentucky), Berea College (Berea, Kentucky), St. Paul’s College (Lawrenceville, Virginia), and Clark College (Atlanta, Georgia).
