Concerned Students of All Colors (CSAC) discusses legal options with Justice Department official

Concerned Students of All Colors (CSAC) had a five-hour meeting with Ed McClure, community relations specialist from the U.S. Department of Justice, to discuss options for redressing their racial grievances at the federal level. McClure had already spoken to the group on legal options at the local and state level. CSAC reached out to him again to help determine the constitutional foundation of the complaint against Smith College they were considering filing. McClure said that he hoped that the issues could be worked out at the college level and that his department would be available to help mediate. However, he said that his main goal in meeting with CSAC was to “provide general information and resources about their alternatives for redress if they couldn’t come to an agreement at the college level.”

The full Sophian article on the meeting can be found here (1, 9).
