First finalist for affirmative action officer presented to students

Herbert Pitts, the first of three finalists for affirmative action officer, met with students at an open forum in Neilson Browsing Room. The forum was held to give students a chance to weigh in on Pitts as a candidate; comments sheets were passed around and although a member of the search committee said that the sheets were “not ballots,” she did note that the final decision would be made “taking community response into consideration.”

The full Sophian article on the forum can be found here (1, 4).
