Student receives four racist notes, decapitated black doll

A resident of Wilson House reported being racially harassed in a verbal encounter in her house. The incident, she said, came after she had received four racist hate notes since October, the last of which threatened her life. The student also reported finding a decapitated black doll on her bed. She disposed of the notes and the doll before making her report to college officials. Melissa Richburg, chairwoman of the Black Students’ Alliance (BSA), told the Union-News that the student had waited to make her report because she was frightened.

A Union-News (Springfield) article on the report can be found (1, 2).
