President Simmons announces plans to increase and maintain diversity
President Simmons announced that she planned to use a discretionary leadership fund granted by the Knight Foundation to recruit and retain a diverse student body and faculty. She proposed putting money to that effect toward the Office of Institutional Diversity, the Smith Summer Science Program, the Ada Comstock program, and visiting scholars.
