Lunch discussions on race begin in Mwangi

The first in a series of luncheons dedicated to discussing race and racial insensitivity on campus took place in the Mwangi Cultural Center on March 29th. Dean of the College Maureen Mahoney and Director of Institutional Diversity Brenda Allen organized the luncheons, which were open to students, faculty, and staff. Those gathered discussed specific issues, such as the racial discrimination in Cutter House, as well as broader issues, such as students feeling their concerns were not being addressed by the administration. The other luncheons were held April 10th, April 19th, April 24th, and April 30th in various venues.

The full Sophian article on the luncheons can be found here (2, 16).
