President Christ notifies Smith community that the student responsible for the hate notes was found and disciplined
On the Friday after Commencement, President Carol Christ sent out a campus-wide email with an update about the perpetrator who wrote the anonymous hate notes. While she noted that she could offer no specific information for confidentiality reasons, she assured students that a student had been brought before the Community Judicial Board (JB) and been found responsible. President Christ also told students that the disciplinary action that the JB had suggested had been taken. She ended her email by saying “I hope this will help to bring some closure to one aspect of the difficult events of the spring.”
