Sophian prints National Student Association (NSA) press release: Vietnam, civil rights, and marijuana
Smith sent three delegates to the 19th annual National Student Association (NSA) congress and the Sophian reprinted the national press release on the congress’ events. The representatives called for the legalization of marijuana, expressed the role of the white student as working with the white community to fight discrimination, and criticized the civil rights bill of 1966 as inadequate. They also proposed alternatives to the draft and a changed dynamic with Vietnam.
