Amherst Weekly Vigil for Peace in Vietnam continues

(Date is for when it was reported in the Sophian)

Started in December 1966, the Quakers-organized vigil continued for an hour every Sunday, attracting more than 200 participants. Participants stood or sat quietly and could come and go; the purpose of the vigil was to “be a quiet but insistent reminder… that numbers of people are opposed to the war in Viet Nam.” There was transportation from Smith every Sunday.
