New homophobic and racist messages in Gardiner House

A threatening homophobic message and a threatening racist message were found on the door to the Gardiner House fourth-floor bathroom. They were similar in tone and content to the messages that had been found in Gardiner House on April 5th and April 7th. For this particular incident, Smith officials contacted the District Attorney and called in a fingerprint analyst from the Northampton Police Department and a handwriting analyst. Smith’s Public Safety continued their investigation as well.

The full Sophian article on the message and the subsequent protests can be found here (1, 10).

The Smith College timeline of these events can be found here (1, 2).
