UMass symposium on Black Power
Inviting two national civil rights leaders to speak and hosting a panel discussion, UMass held a symposium on “Black Power in the Ghetto”. Its goals were “to arrive at a definition of Black Power, to reach an understanding of the problems faced by the people of the Negro ghettos in America, and to examine alternative ideologies and tactics for combatting these problems.”
