Parsons resident who received hate notes is forced to leave Smith
The Parsons first-year who received the two anonymous hate notes met with the Community Judicial Board (JB) during finals week and was told that the handwriting analysts who looked at the notes had matched them to her own handwriting. The JB and the Campus Police detective in charge of the investigation recommended that she be dismissed for a year, at which point the decision was passed on to President Carol Christ, who could choose whether or not to accept this recommendation. Resolving to tell her side of the story to President Christ directly, the student emailed her to set up a meeting. When the Parsons resident arrived at the meeting, President Christ handed her a sealed envelope with a letter of dismissal and told her she had to be out in three days.
