UNITY supporters march
Approximately 200 students in support of the UNITY protest marched across campus at 12:15 p.m. to urge the administration to create a multicultural center for Smith’s cultural organizations. The marchers started at protester-occupied College Hall and went across campus to the Quad via Elm Street before coming back. They briefly stopped outside of President Dunn’s home, as well as in front of the Faculty Center to make sure their chants were heard there. As they ended their demonstration, students circled a yellow pup tent on Seelye Hall’s lawn, with student leaders holding up signs that asked, “Is this our multicultural center?”
A Union-News (Springfield) article on the march can be found here (1, 2).
