西町交番の良さん「助けて!」

西町交番の良さん「助けて!」

この本は優し胃ですが、本はちょっと。。。私は交番が大嫌いですから。こん本に交番の良さんを話しました。街にじてんしゃをのりました。猫を助けて、木に登りました。そして、交番はてつだうが入りました。面白かったですね。アメリカにたくさん交番の本があります。今、日本もたくさん交番の本があると思います。何で?

I wouldn’t recommend this to a friend because most of my friends are black but all in all, I understood everything in the book so I would say its an easy read for first-year Japanese students. It was also kind of funny that the cop got stuck in the tree, so, all in all, it wasn’t too bad of a read.

この本は桜の花を話しました。あついの時、桜がいますが、さむいの時、桜がいません。人は桜の下でたくさんをしました。私わ桜がとてもきれいと思います。でも今はでも今は冬です。私はさむいの月が嫌いですよ。

I liked learning about the times when sakura flowers bloom, and what kind of things people do in Japan when they bloom. Although I understood most everything in the book my knowledge of months is limited so it was more challenging to get through those parts of the book. But all in all the book was short and a little boring so I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend but I wouldn’t completely not mention it either. Books like this are good for 1st years who are very good at kanji.

バス

鈴木正雄さんはバスの運転手です。ある日の夜に、死んだおばあさんを見ました。おばあさんは正雄さんに会って、うれしかったです。実は、正雄さんのバスがトラックにぶつかりました。でも、正雄さんは今元気になってよかったです。

In this book, a young driver saw his dead grandma. However, the truth is that his bus crashed into a trunk and he dreamed his grandma.  I thought it was a horror story, but it is a warm story.  I recommend it to Japanese first year students.

ジョンさんバスの中で

ジョンさんジョンさんバスの中で

電車の乗るは大変ですね。ジョンさんは電車に乗りに学校にいきました。ジョンさんは昨日の夜友達とカラオケをしました。だkカラオケをしました。だからとても眠かったです。だから学校に10時5分にいました。この本はちょっとこの本はちょっとつまらなくて、難しくて、高いです。

I liked this book and found it interesting but it seemed to have 2 stories that were sort of disconnected. One is about John’s failed attempt at DIY jeans he saw in a magazine and the other is about him sleeping on the train, missing his stop, and arriving late for school. Regardless, it was and interesting book, even though it was more challenging than i expected it would be for a level 1 Graded Reader. I would recommend it to a 1st year Japanese student who doesn’t mind a longer, less interesting read。

ジョンさんの夏休み

ジョンさんの夏休み

私は夏休みが大好きです。この本にジョンさんの夏休み話ていました。森さんの家にホームステイをしに行きました。森さんの家族と食べて、花火を見ました。そして、ジョンさんは短冊にお願いをかきました。それから、ジョンさんは大きい犬のねいぐるみをかいって、森のおとうとに送りました。でもパッケジは森のおとうとにきませんでした。ざんねんですね。

When I read this book, we had already gone through Lesson 8 so i understood everything in this book; This was assuring and very satisfying. I also learned that one response to 「どうぞよろしくおねがいします」is 「こちらこそどうぞよろしく」. The book was a bit long but interesting and it had familiar topics in it, so, all in all, I would recommend it to Japanese students at the end of their 1st year.

さくら

I really enjoyed this story! The main focus of the book was, of course, Sakura, or cherry blossoms,  and their appearance in different parts of Japan. I was surprised to find myself so interested in a book about flowers!

I highly recommend this book to Japanese 1 students as it is almost completely understandable. This is due party to the books great use of pictures, which provide context when needed. The book uses a lot of the sentence structures that we see in class and is an excellent source of practice.

level 0, vol 1, sakura

西町交番の良さん 『助けて!』

この本はたのしくておもしろいです!ときどきかんじがありますが、ひらがなもあります。

This book was funny and an easy read for Japanese 110 students. There are a few unknown kanji, but the pictures and hiragana make it easy to infer what is going on. I would highly recommend it to Japanese first years.

着物

この本は ちょっと むずかしいですが、たのしくて とても おもしろいです。きれいな しゃしんが たくさん あります。私は この本が 好きです。

This book is great for people taking JPN 110 or 111! There’s some new vocabulary, but a lot of it is familiar. What you don’t understand you can easily infer. Plus, it’s great for reviewing the vocabulary about how to put on clothing! Also, it lets you learn a little bit about Japanese history. Don’t be intimidated by the fact that it’s a Level 1 book – it’s definitely worth a read!

西町交番の良さん

この本わおもしろいです。むずかしいじゃないです。やさしくて、たのしいです。たくさんカタカナとしゃしんがあります。

This book is a great quick read, and I highly recommend it for Japanese 110 students. There is not a lot of text, and the illustrations really make the context clear. There is a solid amount of Katakana, with the Hiragana aids written above, so it is good practice for that.  The story line was entertaining, and perfect for the holiday season!

木村の毎日「いただきます」

この本はとても可愛いい本です。マリアさんは由美さんは友だちです。それから、マリアさんが由美さんの家に来て一緒にご飯を食べます。マリアさんと由美さんは由美さんのお母さんをてつだいます。一緒にお茶わんとおみそ汁と天ぷらを食べます。

This book is very interesting to read and very cute. However, there are some vocabs that we haven’t learned. There were pictures and because of the story, it wasn’t hard to understand.
