I would highly recommend this book to students.The book is very colorful, and its illustrations are superb. This book is definitely aimed towards students who know basic Japanese.I enjoyed this book. It also illustrates a personal tale of someone going to Japan.The content is very simple, and its very easy for students to understand the book. Please do read this book.
I really enjoy this book! This book describe a day into 東さん’s life. The author uses a lot of the vocabulary we learned in the Genki textbook, like the time, waking up, walking to work, and showering, etc. The reading is very simple and there’s not a lot of kanji so I don’t have to be super stress about what the meaning is. The pictures also very help into comprehending if you are slightly confused about what the new vocabulary is. Overall, I recommend this book to first year students! Great story with detailed information!
京子さんはねこです。たくさんねこといぬがいます。日本の本わかわいいとたのしいです。私はほんがだいすきです。Kyoko-san is a house-cat who goes on an adventure to the forest and explores her family.
This book was a really good read for level 0 readers. It was simple and engaging. The vocabulary was mostly from the first couple of lessons, with the pictures helping with vocabulary and kanji I didn’t know. I would highly recommend this book to other first-year Japanese students.
この本はとてもかわいいです。The drawings are すごくきれいで、おもしろいです。It is a very charming book about the winter adventures of two friends, アンナとリース。The two kids play in the snow, meet an adorable dog and eventually arrive at a warm and cozy restaurant with おいし食べもの！
As I previously mentioned, the quality of the art in this book is really amazing. Combined with the charming story, it makes this book a thoroughly delightful read. It also made me nostalgic as it reminded me of many of my childhood winter adventures with my friends, growing up in Minnesota.
I definitely recommend this book, particularly to my fellow first-year Japanese students. I will caution that there is a decent amount of unfamiliar vocabulary in the book so it is not one of the easier level 0/tadoku books. この本はやさしいくない。However, it is well worth the effort it takes to read it!
This is a very fun book. I just wonder why guys always mess thing up on dates. John san did, and Takeshi san did as well. Anyways, this is not a though book if you are good at knowing lots of kanji. The pictures in the book helps a lot in understanding the context as well. I recommend this to First-year Japanese students who want to challenge themselves in understanding kanji.
この本はとても楽しいですよ。おじいさんとおばあさんはやさしくて、げんきです。誰もおじいさんの笠を買いません、でも大丈夫です。お地蔵さまは食べ物を送ります。おじいさんは笠を、地蔵のあたまにかぶせました。お地蔵さまはとてもかわいいです。I found this book to be adorable not only because of how the gods repaid the old couple so much more than what they received but also because of the heart-warming interaction between the old man and his wife. When the old man came back with no money but also no hat (because he gave it all away to the little gods), his wife did not scold him but instead agreed that it was a good act.
I will recommend this book to first-year students because although the Kanji part is a little bit more difficult, there are furigana and illustrations to help them understand.
This book lists statistics about Japanese men and women such as their respective average height or average age of marriage. The book also compares the statistics to those of other countries, such as America and Mexico. It is not a short story and is informational instead.
I would recommend this book because I think that it is rather interesting. I doubt that I would have come across the information in the book otherwise. Additionally, the artwork is pleasing. The measurements can be a bit confusing but otherwise it is mostly clear and readable with the skills of a first-year Japanese student.
This book was average. I understood 90% of it, so I recommend it as a level zero book. The story was funny in parts. It had some Genki character fanfiction as part of the plot. There were a few vocabulary words that I didn’t know but I was not able to figure them out from the context or the drawings.
This book was fine but if you picked another random student book it would probably be just as good. It was not challenging so this is good book if you do not want to be too intimidated by new vocab and kanji. It takes 5-10 minutes to read.
この本で、サラさんとサラさんのかぞくが大阪に行きました。そこでたくさんおいしい食べ物を食べて、大阪城を見ました。大阪から京都に行きました。京都においしいカフェラテを飲みました。スミス大学で日本語をべんきょうします、日本で日本語を話しますから。
In this book, Sara and her family went to Osaka. There, they ate lots of delicious food, and saw Osaka-jo.From Osaka, they went to Kyoto. In Kyoto, she drank a delicious Cafe Latte. She studies Japanese at Smith College, because she will speak Japanese in Japan.
This book was interesting to read. Since it is a personal story of a student, it was fun to see what she did in Osaka. The pictures were also nice, as they added to the authenticity of this book. There were a few words and kanji that I didn’t know at first, but it was easy enough to approximate the meaning from context and pictures. For this reason, and since it was interesting and informative, I would recommend this book to other first year students.
この本は面白いです！レベル１の本ですが、難しくないです。でも、たくさん新しい単語があります。
ジヨンさんは日本に勉強しに行きます。飛行機で漫画を読んていました、そして、ゆきさんに会いました。二人は同じい漫画が好きと言いました。あとで、ジヨンさんとゆきさんは東京に会いて 一緒に歌舞伎に行きました。
Unlike many other Graded Readers book, this one has a clear and interesting story line, so it is easier to follow and read. I find it very helpful in applying what we learned in class as it tells a real life story. Also, it is a relatively easier Level 1 book and I would recommend this to 一年生 who wants to try some Level 1 books.
