「お正月」木村家の毎日

本の中で、木村家とお正月を祝いたいですか。
やるべきことがたくさんあります!
例えば、お正月の前に。。。カードを書いたり、たくさん家を掃除したりします。
一緒に、すべての家族はおいしい食べ物を食べます。そして、子供たちが遊んで、大人の飲みます。
その後、家族は神社に行って、1月1日になります。

Not only is this book friendly to new readers of Japanese, it is also culturally educational. Why not experience a Japanese New Years’ celebration with the Kimura family? This book is very colorful and easy to interpret. I would recommend it to any beginner.

この人だあれ?

「この人だあれ?」の本はむずかしでもおもしろいです。たくさんかんじとあたらしたんごをよみます。トピクは日本のれきしとゆうめい人です。

Comparing this level three book to the level two books I have read in the past, this story was a much bigger challenge. The topic is super interesting however, making it worthwhile to read. The story is about three famous historical people featured on the 1000, 5000, and 10000 yen bills and how they came about their fame. Because of the level of challenge the new vocabulary brings, and because this level three book is a lot longer than the level two books, only choose this book if you are up for a challenge and have the time to translate thoroughly!

ス―ラ デミア

舌切り雀

この本はおもしろくて、少しこわよかったです。おじいさんはやさしいです、でもおばあさんはやさしくないです。かわいい雀があります.この本は親密でとても大事です。たくさんきれいな色がおあります。

This book was interesting, and a little scary. The old man was nice, but the grandma wasn’t. There is a cute bird too. In this book, friendships is very important. There are a lot of pretty colors.

This is a very interesting book to read, would recommend this to anyone who likes folktales. The  story is easy to read, with a couple of words to look up. The kanji we already know most from past lessons.

笠地蔵

おじいさんはおもしろい人ですよ。でも、じぞうはちょっとこわいと思います。この本の中はかなしてですが、エンぢングはいいです。しゃしんはきれいですよ。The old man is an interesting person, but the statues were a bit scary. The middle of this book is sad, but it has a good ending. Also, the pictures are nice.

I would definitely recommend this book. There is some advanced vocabulary, but it’s easy to have a general understanding of what’s happening. With a theme of karma, and some moments being a bit odd while others are touching, 笠地蔵 is an overall good story.

女の子

この本はとても面白いです。さびしい女の子、いつも一人大きい家で住んでいました。でも、窓の外で、新世界があります。自転車、バイク、子ども、猫、いろいろがいます。最後に、女の人と男の人、友人になります!

I think this book is a quick and easy read. There are a lot of parallel in sentences, listing a couple of things at the same time. The story line also progresses smoothly. We are also familiar with all the grammar and vocabulary. I really enjoyed reading this book, and would recommend it to everyone.

ジョンさん バスの中で

この本で、大学生の おかしい話が 二つあります。ジョンさんは バスに乗る前に、新しい事を してみるが、かんがえません。それから、バスの中で、いつも たいへんです。みんなは ジョンさんに 大切な きょうくんを ならえます:新しい事を してみる時、気をつけてください。(^‿^)

Anyone can relate to these stories about everyday decisions that may not sometimes be the best, but are little anecdotes we learn from and laugh about later. These moments remind us that nobody’s perfect, and that little everyday slip-ups come and go.

ジョンさんの夏休み

この本は面白いものがたりと思います。主人公はジョンさん。ジョンさっは夏休みにホームステイをします。新しい友達をあたり、祭りにあったりしました。This book is about the main character John’s summer vacation. He went to Sendai for a homestay, and made new friends and went to festivals!

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a pretty easy yet still engaging read. The story is interesting and easy to follow, and will teach you about a cool part of Japanese culture (and some new vocab words!).

大豆

とてもいい本でしたよ!ちしきとれきしがたくさんあって、面白かったです。説明書があって、かわいい絵もありました。私はこの本を読んでよかったです。でも、文がみじかすぎるので、とても簡単本でした。

I would recommend this book. The sentences were pretty short and simplistic, and there wasn’t a whole lot of kanji, but it was informative and fun to read. The pictures are very cute, and the instructions/directions on how to make the various food items was enjoyable to read.

浦島 太郎

この本はとてもよかったです。それは多くの単語を持っています。読むのがとても簡単でした。文章はすごく容易でした。

I would recommend this book. It is a very famous Japanese folktale. I have read it in English before, and it is very interesting to read the Japanese version. It had a very manageable vocabulary and sentence structure, I barely had to look up any words at all. It was very easy to follow the story. The story itself is an interesting tale reminiscent of other folktales from around the world, like the fisherman’s wife or Pandora’s box.

風と太陽

このものがたりはとても有名ですね。子供の時母から聞きました。簡単ですが、面白いと思います。

This short story is about how wind and sun were having a little competition. The content is very easy but it is quite interesting. It is a very quick read I don’t think anyone would encounter any problems with it. However I would suggest people to read something more closely related to Japanese tradition since this tale is globally known.
