最初にはちょっと話がりかいできませんでしたが、あとでわかりました。とても面白くて、ふしぎな話だと思います。私は読んでかんどうしました。だから、皆さんもあきらめなくてさいごまで読んで見てください。
I would like to recommend this story to my classmates, because it has a very good plot that keeps you curious, and it has a pretty good ending that makes you look back on your own life and be grateful. It might be a little confusing in the beginning, but you’ll get the story in the end, and the grammar and vocabulary isn’t too difficult.
この本はおもしろかったっです。でも日本語1年生はしらないexpressionがすこしあります。For example、the phrases “とくべつ”、“泣きました”、“いろがかわりませんでした” are usually not familiar to a 日本語1年生。それから、ときどき grammar errorがあると思います。For example, “ざーざーふりです”じゃなくて“ザーザーふります”だと思います。でもストリはたのしかったです。それからこの本はえがとても！！とてもきれいです。I seriously envy the author’s art skills.なかなかおもしろい本でした。
とてもきれいでおもしろい本ですよ。ぶたは小さくて、かわいいです。緑の豚が すきです！
This story was really interesting and so well-drawn! It reminded me of The Ugly Duckling, but even cuter! I would definitely recommend this story.
I think this story is meant for 110 students like us because it is rather easy, even if it is more difficult than some other Yomu Yomu Beginners’ books because some sentences are quite long! But if you like little piggies and pretty drawings, read this story!
「おじいさんの旅」というのは作者のおじいさんの人生について本です。作者のおじいさんは若者の時、アメリカで旅行しに行きました。その時は、アメリアの人々やとても美しい景色に惚れて、カリフォルニアに住むことにしました。
話は結構短いですが、絵が素晴らしくて、感動しました。主に、移住人は場所を二つ「home」と呼ぶことについて話です。
This story is about the author’s grandfather’s life as an immigrant in America. The illustrations are quite beautiful and, although the story was short, it moved me. Overall, it’s about how immigrants have two places to call home, and how they are always missing a place.
I definitely recommend it!
私は去年京都で留学している間色々な漫画を買いましたが、読む時間がなくて、アメリカに帰ってから読んだことが多いです。これは最近読んだ「テンカウント」というBLのまんがです。日本では結構人気があると思います。城谷（しろたに）という主人公はひどいOCDのせいでこのマスクと手袋をしています。でも黒瀬（くろせ）という男性と出会ってからOCDが少しずつ治っていって、恋に落ちる、という話です。彼らの間のコミュニケーションがあまりよくないため、かなり暗い話にもなりますが、私は好きです。
難しい単語が思ったよりたくさんあるので、読むのがチャレンジでした。でも、絵がとても上手に描かれていて、人物も面白いと思うので、おすすめです。特に、暗くてロマンチックな話が好きな人は読んでみるといいと思います。
This is the first volume of the BL manga “Ten Count,” which I bought in Kyoto last year. The protagonist, Shirotani (pictured on the cover) suffers from severe OCD, but then he meets a mysterious young man named Kurose who tries to help him live life normally; and they start to develop romantic feelings for each other, of course. I really enjoyed the art and I think the characters are interesting, so I would recommend it to anyone who is okay with a fairly dark story. But it does have quite a bit of tough vocabulary, like medical words, so for Japanese reading practice I would recommend it more to the JPN 351 students.
この話が大好きです。この本の中で、おばあさんは「ライフ」と言う店で花のたねが入った紙のふくろをおきました。ご主人が死んだので、おばあさんは悲しくて、さびしいです。ご主人は花のが大好きでしたから、花のたねが入った紙のふくろをおきました。そして人々はライフに入って、花のたねが入った紙のふくろと他の物を取って、花のたねがはいった紙のふくろと他の物の代わりに何かを残しました。みなさんは花のたねが入った紙のふくろと他の物のおかげで、うれしくなります。終わりが大好きです。とても大切なメセージは人々に何かをあげたら、ライフは美しくなります。
I totally recommend this book! Because it’s a Japanese children’s book the natural language can sometimes be hard to understand, but the pictures help a lot. This book has a very important message and will leave you feeling peaceful and happy after you have read it. I recommend it as a start for people who want to try another genre besides graded readers. Please read this book!
